Instructor Training

The International Aquanautic Club (i.a.c.) with its training centers in Germany and abroad guarantees internationally recognized training at the highest level. Within CMAS Germany the i.a.c. is the most important association of commercial diving instructors and is also internationally linked through its membership in the RSTC.
i.a.c / CMAS instructors are qualified for professional diving training, professional diving equipment and exciting dives.

Scuba Instructor

The first step on the way of becoming a diving instructor is the i.a.c. Scuba Instructor or Diving Instructor Assistant. You can complete this training in approx. 3-6 months with us.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Certified as an i.a.c. Dive Leader / CMAS*** or equivalent
  • Certified in the following diving specialties: night diving, rescue diving, CPR incl. oxygen provider, underwater orientation/navigation as well as diving leadership
  • 80 or more logged dives in different waters (min. 30 in the ocean), at least 25 dives as a group leader

Successful completion

After successfully passing the theory and receiving a positive appraisal you will be certified as i.a.c. Scuba Instructor / Assistant Instructor. Based on this certification you can subscribe for the next Diving Instructor Assessment/Diving Instructor Qualification Training.
As certified i.a.c. Scuba Instructor you are eligible to teach the following diving courses:

– Snorkeling Specialty
– DSD
– Discover Scuba Diving
– Certified Pool Diver
– Certified Basic Diver

As certified i.a.c. Basic Instructor you are eligible to participate in all levels and respective specialties of i.a.c. diving education and to assist the respective i.a.c. diving instructor.

OW Instructor / CMAS TL*

Your are already Basic Instructor and would like to take the next step? Become an OW Instructor and train your own students to become Open Water Divers.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Certified i.a.c. Scuba Instructor or equivalent
  • Proof of accompanying or assisting with Scuba diving training for beginners
  • Valid medical statement
  • Valid general liability insurancefor diving instructors
  • 120 or more logged dives

Successful completion

After successfully passing the theory and receiving a positive overall appraisal you will be certified as i.a.c. Open Water Instructor / CMAS Instructor*. You are eligible to train and certify the following scuba diving courses:

– i.a.c. Open Water Diver / CMAS*
– Specialties: Deep Diving, Underwater Orientation/ Navigation,  Diving Leadership

More teaching certifications for additional diving specialties can be acquired at any time by taking courses respectively.

Master Instructor

One of the most common parts of the educational concept in many dive centers is the advanced training of divers in different specialities. Therefor it makes sense enhance your own professional training by learning how to teach these specialities. The i.a.c. Master Instructor is perfectly tailored to match these requirements.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Certified i.a.c. OW Instructor/CMAS TL* or equivalent
  • 150 or more logged dives

Successful completion

You are eligible to train and certify your students to become Advanced Open Water Divers. Furthermore you can offer your clients single Speciality courses.
